Greetings!
Technology week in the garden has us busy with upgrades and applications that leave us scratching our heads sometimes. We’re reminded how the internet changed our lives in a good way. Thank you Al Gore!
How we can’t do cardio without a playlist. The power of information. Data mining. The scramble to keep up.
Need to upgrade our communications. Just give me a strong signal, a camera might be nice, but do I really need email on my phone? Do I need another download? Do I want to be that person who is always staring at their phone? Uh…no.
Wish I would have had the camera yesterday for this bumper sticker. “I love America, I fear my government.”
Was reminded of recent reading on a data-mining process that was developed by the Pentagon and was banned by Congress in 2003 because of huge privacy violations. Well, it’s baaaack. It never went away.
We can’t forget that today’s color scheme is Yellow and Orange. However, maybe we should heed the words of the good Dr.,
“Fear is an unhealthy condition, living in fear…. it makes the population more obedient, particularly if they’re willing to give up their freedom for security. More obedient, easier to control…..”
Speaking of controlling security measures, I enjoyed reading this rant from a young reporter who obviously takes his job very seriously. A couple of quotes that got my attention:
“Besides the fact that the news was already out — (Our source ended up being right.) — we could have kept our lips sealed. We are journalists — we can keep secrets. It’s inherent in our job, especially political reporting.”
And then:
“Sensitive with what was at stake, they probably just didn’t trust us with the information beforehand. But they should have.”
Really?
Today’s Tip for better living: Free your mind.
