Friendship and Truth Stone Urn

cobalt blue marble urn

The Truth and Friendship marble urn is the first memorial urn featured in our Shades of Blue Cremation Urn Collection.  The Urn Garden artists have crafted this cremation urn from the ancient stone Lapis Lazuli , the stone of friendship and truth.  The blue stone is said to encourage harmony in relationships and help its wearer to be authentic and give his or her opinion openly.

Lapis features deep shades of blue dusted with golden flecks of pyrite and intermittent gray or white calcite deposits and takes an excellent polish that shimmers like a star. This ancient stone was a favorite with the Egyptians who crafted it for jewelery, and used the crushed minerals for eyeshadow.

Egyptians often buried cats with their owners. And Florida recently passed legislation allowing pets to be buried with their owners.

For the royally pampered pooch, our latest pet urn in the Egyptian Urn Collection.

Mighty Isis

Wednesday, August 20th, 2008

Isis is usually shown with her arms spread, always ready to receive. She covered a lot of territory. I was first introduced to Isis as a kid through the magic of television.

My favorite was Wonder Woman, who always prayed to The Mighty Isis.

Powerful? Isis was the Egyptian goddess of truth, justice, law, and funeral rituals. One of the most popular goddesses in Egypt, she had her own priests and many temples were built in her honor.

We’ve commissioned several styles of urns in the image of Isis for families to use as a keepsake urn for small portions of ash, flowers, or jewelry, or for smaller pets. We’ve had several cat owners purchase these for their cats named….Isis.

June Bugs Makin Love

A Wild Ride

The June Bugs (or Japanese Beetles?) invaded the garden and got busy breeding and munching.

It’s hard to believe that the Egyptians worshiped the dung beetle. The scarab symbol is commonly found in hieroglyphics and jewelry designs.

So we have a love hate relationship with the scarab. Urn Garden commissioned a scarab urn that appeals to pet owners (cat owners especially) and families that want a keepsake urn.

Here come the ants. In the kitchen. So annoying.

The new addition to our bug collection is the Egyptian Scarab keepsake urn. The scarab beetle was of one of the most important religious symbols in Egypt and many of the dead were buried with scarab amulets as a symbol of regeneration.

Our Sacred Scarab keepsake urn comes in green or black, with lined interior and bottom. Perfect size for storing jewelry, a lock of hair, dried flowers, sacred burial ground, or other small mementos.
