We’ve always been a little intrigued by the Victorian art form of Memento Mori. We have a small collection of urn keepsakes that we’ve added to the Urn Garden.
Inspired by the glass lockets that were used to store locks of hair, we’ve continued the tradition of memorial jewelry, with the Heart of Glass Victorian urn locket.

Heart of Glass Victorian Memorial Jewelry
Glass set in sterling silver holds a photo, lock of hair, dried flowers, small amount of ashes, sand from a favorite beach, or other small keepsake.

Our Dark Angel Keepsake Urn blends Victorian Memento Mori with tribal art to create a unique way to store mementos.

Phoenix Reborn by Iron-Phoenix
A Phoenix is a mythical bird that is a fire spirit with a colorful plumage and a tail of gold and scarlet (or purple, blue, and green according to some legends). It has a 500 to 1,000 year life-cycle, near the end of which it builds itself a nest of twigs that then ignites; both nest and bird burn fiercely and are reduced to ashes, from which a new, young phoenix or phoenix egg arises, reborn anew to live again.
Inspired by the image of the Phoenix, the Urn Garden artists have created a keepsake urn in the style of body art.

The Rising Phoenix Keepsake Urn is hand painted, industrial molded resin. Magnetic lift off lid. Can be permanently sealed.

“Tis the summer of retirement parties for many of our friends in the Queen City fire department. Like many cities across the nation, our police and fire department have some pension issues.
So we hooked up the smoker, iced the keg, tuned the instruments and kicked the first party off in a green valley just south of the garden.

And when we’re not having a hoedown, we’re hunching the keyboard and rolling out a line of high quality 14K urn jewelry for our clients.

It’s an honor to serve our client families, but it’s hard not to be distracted by the beauty out the window.

Stay focused and:

Several clients have requested that we carry the metal heart keepsake urns. We’ve just added them to our inventory and have several styles available.
The heart keepsake urns are designed to hold a small portion of ash, lock of hair or other small memento. The hearts load from the bottom and are secured with a threaded stopper.

Many of our keepsake urns have matching adult urns.

Dear Internets,
I’ve met the most amazing individuals over the past two weeks.
First up: Cindy, from Arizona, our latest member of the Widow’s Club. Her 51 year-old husband dropped from cardiac arrest. They were newly wed last August and just moved to Arizona. Cindy chose the “Going Home” themed urn.

Last week, I met the widow of this brilliant mind:
“In my lifetime, it’s hard not to look at the transistor, which was probably the single thing that caused most the technology industry to occur.”
Conrad Jutson, when asked what is the greatest invention that’s occurred in his lifetime, and of humanity.

He was on the design and development team of the best selling GE AM transistor radio, which led down this path:

Continue reading the accomplishments of Conrad Jutson.
And in the end? Salt of the Earth.

Do I have your attention?

One of our clients called to thank us for the Egyptian urns she bought for her sister who loved all things Egyptian. The family purchased four of the Bastet canopic jars and plans to divide and spread her ashes all over the world as she requested.

Check out our new Bastet Egyptian keepsake urn.

Perfect for families that want to keep a small bit of ash for spreading later, a lock of hair, or other small memento.
